Your Santa Barbara vacation is complete with a stay at Bath Street Inn.  We would love to tell you why.

Nestled between mountains and coastline, its whitewashed buildings ensconced in gardens of bougainvillea, palm, and citrus, Santa Barbara is a poster child for la dolce vita, California-style.

After a hearty breakfast, enjoy a day full of sightseeing in Santa Barbara.  Santa Barbara visitors enjoy whale watching, historic points of interest, and our delightful museums.  The Santa Barbara Channel provides one of the world’s top 10 habitats for whales and more than 30 dolphin species. The Channel is on the winter/spring migration route from Alaska to Baja for Pacific Gray whales, and the gigantic Blue whales and Humpbacks feed on krill there in the summer and early fall months.

Not to be missed historic sites include El Presidio, the excavated and restored military installation created by the Spanish in 1782.  Also, among Santa Barbara Missions is the iconic Old Mission, known as The Queen of the Missions for its beauty, founded in 1786.  The La Purisima Mission in nearby Lompoc is the most extensively restored mission in the state and hosts living history days.  The Santa Barbara Courthouse, rebuilt after the 1925 earthquake, has been called the prettiest courthouse in America.

The Santa Barbara Historical Museum with its adobe and Spanish courtyard is a cultural gem.  Art lovers typically find creative and unique exhibits at the world-class Santa Barbara Museum of Art, while nature lovers enjoy the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History and the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum.  For the gardeners among us, the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden and the Lotusland estate with its 13 themed gardens demonstrate very different visions.

Santa Barbara offers a wonderful selection of wines with over 100 wineries to explore.  Your vacation won't be complete without a visit to at least one area winery, so ask us about our Wine Tours.
